Yaaaaay, Hofburg This crappy net annoys me everytime I walk through, they could have put it there symmetrically, at least... But I like this place a great deal! There are nice allegories standing around, did you see them? Virtue, fortitude, justice, clemency, and ... wohoo, constancy
I was surprised that they had a net there XD Is it to keep pigeons from flying up there?
I think we saw some of them but we didn't know what they represented. I just remember that on the outside they had a lot of Hercules statues Unless I'm mixing up buildings. You have so many statues everywhere it's hard to keep track of them
Yeah, exactly... pigeons are a problem, their crap is dangerous for the buildings and, of course, tourists don't like it a lot when pigeons shit on them... and Hofburg with all its niches and corners is predestinated for pigeon's nests... Yes, right, there are Hercules' all over, representing the various works he had to do in order to atone for the murder of his wife and children. Oh, that's okay... I lose track easily too
Wow I didn't know that Hercules even had a wife or kids Why did he kill them?
I've just been to an 8-day training sessions for my new job and came back home yesterday. I was so tired I think I slept for over 10 hours Each day was packed with so much project work and social activities that we hardly had any time for ourselves. Sitting in my apartment and having it completely quiet around me now feels awesome XD
Hercules was driven crazy by Hera (the wife of Zeus, his father, who betrayed her with a nymph), so he didn't realize he was killing his family; he thought, in fact, that he was killing lions that threatened his family...
Naw, Irene told me... sounds exhausting! How was the session? Did you learn a lot? How were the other people? And now you are starting to work?
Oh, I had a few fine days in Graz with Thomas and now I'm back, because next week my summer job starts! Tomorow I'll meet Irene
We learned a lot at the session and it was lots of fun They arranged so many social events after the courses every day it was hard to keep track of everything I started on my first day of actual work today and I think the project I've been given for the next few months is something I can come to enjoy.
Oh right how was Graz? Did you get to see a lot of things? Good luck on your summer job.
Woohoo, what project is it you work on now? I'm glad you like it there - how about your colleagues?
Graz is a really lovely city, more or less a small edition of Vienna Even the lanes and parks and bridges have the same names, that's a bit creepy Thanks, I've been looking forward to this job for the whole year, it's the fourth summer I do this now. Yaaaay. Two days ago I went to an open-air concert - it was raining for hours! But still, it was awesome, an Uruguayan punk band was there and an American Mariachi band and the main act was an Ukrainian Gypsy punk-folk-metal-band - I love them!
so you're in Vienna right now?
I was there for 2 weeks. I'm back in Norway now ^^
